November 2015 - To have the Appaloosa breed officially recognised here in Spain we are a little short on numbers. About 4,980 short to be precise! The powers that be in the Spanish government require 5000 breeding stock for a breed to be registered. Hence the new "breeds" of Hispanoárabe, Angloárabe and Tresangres! We are not prepared to compromise the integrity of the Appaloosa, much less the careful, selective breeding of the Foundation Appaloosa and just register any old equine with a couple of old ´stains´ on it´s coat as an Appaloosa. So, back to the drawing board.
02 Mar 15 - Lunita just being, well Looney! EV Etesian Kiss The Moon will be 5 on May 24th 2015. Appaloosa´s have the intelligence and versatility to turn themselves to any discipline. They also have the smarts to learn quickly. Lunita has done some in-hand work. Happily stands tied, lifts hooves, mounts a ramp into the trailer. Responds to voice at 3 gaits at liberty, takes a saddle, including it´s flapping stirrups, she has benefited from respectful groundwork liberty training to know her laterals and flexions. Being permitted to be "a horse", living with her sisters in a herd environment Lunita is respectful to you. She has never known a harsh word or raised hand, and therefore has no fears. All her bones and tendons, and especially her spine and distal regions have benefited from baring no weight and constant movement to be sure they are as strong, straight, balanced and correct as they can be. Now the perfect age to bring on in your chosen discipline.

NO SHOWS HERE! So saddened by the lack of, well anything, by the Appaloosa club here in Spain. In 16 years of control they have done NOTHING to promote the breed, not even having it officially recognised here in Spain. That is all to change very soon. After 7 years of battling alone, I am finally making headway for this marvelous breed. The ApHC #appaloosaclub should hang their heads in shame. It has been with no thanks to them. They have only hindered the advancement of the horse.
