Espiritu Del Viento - Spirit of the Wind
TEAM SPIRIT is not by any means just me and Heart. A very important and intricate part of our Team Spirit is my husband, Francisco. Without his spirit, and never ending support and hardwork I would probably never have realised my dream of owning an Appaloosa and much less of competing in Endurance.I began competing at 44. Take heed, its never too late! Having ridden all of my life previous circumstance and lack of support never allowed me to commit to the competition circuit, as is required if you want to achieve any kind of status. Since Francisco entered my life Iīve never looked back. I canīt begin to count the fence posts heīs put up (and then fixed - horses are big animals!), the water pumps and deposits and systems he has built, the ground he has rotivated, the concrete he has poured, the jumps he has built, the bales of hay he has lugged, the journeys he has driven, the manes and tails brushed.... the list is endless. Francisco had barely ridden a horse before knowing me. Not only has he learnt one end from another, how to ride in an English close contact seat (instead of a big fat armchair Spanish saddle), he is now learning to jump. Something he said heīd never do. Never say never in our home! Thank you Francisco, for being exactly who you are. I love you for it.

Francisco, with our two youngest members of Team Spirit, Alejandro and Enrique.
